ABOUT THE DIVE

Descend into the turbulent Atlantic waters off Fort Lauderdale and discover the Jay Scutti Wreck, where challenging conditions turn an ordinary wreck dive into an unforgettable underwater adventure. On this dive, heavy currents associated with Hurricane Isaiah in the Gulf stirred up the water, creating turbid conditions and reducing visibility to just 30–40 feet. As the wreck slowly emerged through the hazy blue, navigating its massive structure brought an added sense of mystery and exploration. Near the stern, an impressive great barracuda appeared, patrolling the wreck with its unmistakable silhouette and commanding presence. Despite the limited visibility and powerful currents, diving the Jay Scutti delivered a thrilling combination of wreck exploration, marine life encounters, and the unpredictable nature of the Atlantic Ocean.
